RESUMO:
This study aims to present a method to help decision makers in the choice of installation of companies in cities, using the multicriteria Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. As a methodological approach, a review of literature and a field research was conducted to develop a model to be employed in a case study The result of the applied model demonstrates the importance of attracting metal mechanic industries and consumer goods to the studied city. The method presented in this study is a valuable tool that public managers can use to make a good decision making to minimize the risk of biased influences in the decision-making process and thereby maximizing the progress of cities in a sustainable way.
