RESUMO:
In 2020 the world came across COVID-19, classified as a global pandemic, and this repercussion of the illness generated a high flow of information in social media. Based on a systematic literature review, this work sought to discuss how social media can help the data analysis of pandemics and epidemics and to study how we can use this information in its response phase. After screening for papers that fit the scope of this work, eight papers remained. We concluded that the social media data is useful to analysis, monitoring and identification of epidemics. Furthermore, along with the official data, social media may help decision-makers to better respond to a pandemic or epidemic.
